Working examples behind each of my five missions, on real public data

One source, two paths

Two of the examples start from the same file: the open data catalog of the Belgian statistical office, Statbel (a DCAT file). One path turns it into a business catalog that people can read; the other turns it into governed data tables on a modern data platform. They meet in the same catalog tool.

In both paths the code is public and the data is reused under the Statbel open licence (CC BY 4.0).

The examples

availableMISSIONS 1 · 5

A business catalog, from open data

From the DCAT file to a business dictionary of 127 terms, imported and approved in OpenMetadata, then published as a catalog anyone can search. It is also the material of a training for Data Owners and Data Stewards.

availableMISSION 3

A governed data platform

The same file and the Statbel data processed in Databricks, documented in Unity Catalog, published to BigQuery and harvested by OpenMetadata: 13 tables, every column described, keys tested before they are declared.

availableMISSIONS 4 · 5

A project run in Jira and Confluence

How I organise a project: epics, stories and sprints in Jira, a Confluence space with templates, ceremonies and light reporting. The import files are free to download and reuse.

A document life cycle application

Promulga: a small, self-hosted application, built with AI from my specification, that runs the life cycle of policies and standards from draft to a stamped, versioned PDF. A hands-on way to teach document governance.

coming early NovemberMISSION 2

Data quality: measure and report

Measuring the quality of the Statbel files, and a dynamic report that shows where the problems are and why.

coming early NovemberMISSION 3

A data product on Statbel

Defining a data product and showing, step by step in OpenMetadata, how it is built and governed.

How these examples were made

I work with an AI assistant (Claude) the way I would with a technical team. I provide the conceptual specifications, let it do the work, and validate the quality of what it proposes. I also make sure that the documentation is clear and does its job here: to show my skills, my know-how, my knowledge and my way of working. Each example says so on its page.
